Producers of premium handcrafted wines in the Henty Wine Region, located between Hamilton and the Wannon Falls, south west of the Grampians National Park.

Bochara Wines is best known for Sauvignon Blanc, Picnic Train Rose, Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer.

Vineyard

Located in western Victoria’s red-gum country, the vineyard and cellar door are 10 km west of Hamilton.

The vineyard was established in 1998 in the farming district of Bochara.

The site features well drained buckshot gravel soil and a north facing aspect. The site is cool by Australian standards with a heat summation of around 1200 day degrees.

As well as grapes grown at Bochara, small batches of different varieties grown in the Henty region are selected from time to time for the Bochara Wines label.

Cellar Door

The charming Bochara Wines cellar door is formerly the home of a returned Light Horseman from the first World War. The weatherboard cottage was built at Tahara during the nineteenth century and transported to its current site in the 1920s. It was restored in 2002 and provides visitors with a comfortable and historic venue for wine tasting and views of the vineyard.

Label

In 1901, part of the 10,000 acre pastoral run known as Bochara was divided into smaller family farms. The distinctive Bochara Wines logo and label have been developed from the art-nouveau design of the 1901 subdivision poster advertising “Land for the People”.
